This lot consists of twelve pieces of breweriana, comprising eleven beer steins and one figural pitcher. The collection features a variety of materials including glazed ceramic, salt-glazed stoneware, and molded glass, with most pieces featuring pewter lids and thumb lifts. A primary piece in the group is a large ceramic figural pitcher molded in the form of a mallard duck with a textured feather handle and a domed pewter lid. The collection includes an oversized master stein in stoneware with high-relief tavern scenes, inscribed Wilderer in der Almhütte, featuring a ceramic figurine finial on the lid. Other items include a cream-colored stoneware stein with relief scrollwork and the English text Little brown jug don’t I love thee, a dark green stoneware motto stein inscribed Behüt dich Gott es hat nicht sollen sein, and a small souvenir stein featuring the text HOTEL Jackson. Also present are two ceramic steins with blue transfer-printed scenes and pewter lids containing porcelain inserts, and a faceted clear glass stein with a pewter lid featuring an inset printed image of a woman in 19th-century dress. The remaining four small steins include one with German architectural relief and the text Gutes Bier, a lidless salt-glazed stoneware stein, and two with traditional floral and tavern motifs. Construction methods include relief molding, transfer printing, and salt-glazing.
